Well and truly in to 2016 now and once again I’m in transit, currently enjoying the Iberia lounge in Madrid airport while I wait for my connection to Lima, Peru. Work and the travelling associated with has been crazy with a three weekly rotation in and out of Lima with my colleague Mike, so this route, flying on a Sunday, is pretty familiar now. British Airways provides the early morning ‘hop’ to Madrid before flying with Iberia to Lima. Flying time in total is around 14 hours, so my Sunday is pretty much lost in mid-air over the Atlantic. With all the travelling I’ve earned access to the lounges which is a real blessing. Being able to escape the crowds and enjoy some peace and quiet and a drink or two is close to heavenly. It took seven years of travel to earn it though, so I’m enjoying this ‘perk’ every chance I get.
So, with my second Cortado in hand, I now look towards to second leg of my trip and twelve hours in the air to Lima.
I’ll catch up with some details of Lima during this trip as I’ve neglected it somewhat, I guess over familiarisation with a journey dulls ones inclination to write about it.
Adios!
