2015 – It’s a wrap!

So as another year draws to a close it feels like a good time to reflect on just how fortunate we have been over the last year and now excitedly anticipate adventures to come in 2016.

Last January we were eagerly looking forward to our visit to China and, although at the time we were not overly impressed with it, we now look back with disbelief at the number of amazing experiences we crammed into our short visit.

We could never have predicted the biggest opportunity we were given this year – working in Peru. My wife made the decision to stay in England whilst I commuted back and forth. However, as somebody who is always looking to visit new destinations, she crazily flew to Lima for a week!

The main question on our minds now, is – what will 2016 hold for us? We have learnt over recent years that only the big man upstairs truly knows but we will continue to seize every opportunity we are given.

Our plans for the first half of the year will fit in around my regular commutes to Lima, hopefully with another flying visit from my wife. We already have plans for a visit to Iceland in February in the hopes that we will be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the elusive Northern Lights, this is most definitely a bucket list trip. In late March we are off to Malaysia, one of my favourite work destinations, with a side trip to Borneo in the hope we will see some Orang Utans.

We feel so blessed to be able to experience such wonderful places and people, in doing so it affirms our belief that the world is made up of kind, considerate and caring people. If travel does nothing else it reminds us just how alike we all are.

Happy New Year and a prosperous and well travelled 2016.
