After researching the web, looking for boutique and unusual hotels in Madrid, we plumped for the Sercotel Suites Viena. This was for a couple of reasons. It was walking distance from the Metro station, also an easy walk in to Madrid city centre and we also managed to get a good price, that included breakfast, by booking through the hotel website.
PRO’s: Easy access to Metro system and the city centre. (If you don’t mind a 10 minute walk) Buffet breakfast was good and plentiful. Area around hotel was quiet and felt safe. Hotel was very clean, rooms especially so. Room was a good size. Staff were business like, discreet, but friendly.
CON’s: Got told off about being in reception area without my shoes on. No tea or coffee making in the rooms, but it was available in the reception area. No on-site restaurant. Television had a limited number of English channels (but Madrid amply made up for that…)
