Moving on day!
Time to leave our little guesthouse and take the high speed KTX all the way to the Southern end of South Korea, Busan.
Taking breakfast and saying good bye to our host, we took the blue line subway three stops to Seoul Station, a big and bright Station where we picked up the KTX233 service on platform 6. Paying a little extra for first class seats, it buys you nothing but a bottle of water and a larger comfortable seat.
Three hours’ish later we arrive in Busan, navigate our way out of the railway station and down in to the metro. Picking up line 1, orange, and then switching to line 2, green, we exited at Haeundae station, which turned out to be about 400 yards from our hotel.
Situated up on the 7th floor, checking in to the MS Hotel was simple and we were soon in our room overlooking the ocean.

Having expected a snack trolley on the train and being slightly disappointed by the single cookie and bag of nuts dished out as we left Seoul, getting something to was high on our list of priority’s, after a quick brew we headed back out to the high street to look for a restaurant. Lunch was finally located at the end of a street of eateries, a small place serving all manner of dishes, we opted for set menu 1, three pieces of tempura vegetable, two fish skewers and a dish of Tteokbokki, rice cakes in spicy sauce.
This was followed by a hot hotteok, fried bread dough filled with honey, fried until crispy. Washing this all down with a coffee and a tea at Ediya coffee shop.
Suitably fortified we headed to the promenade for a stroll, walking on the beach, taking pictures with the beach art and soaking our well walked feet in the hot spring foot spa on the promenade. As we neared the end of our stroll, the sun was starting to go down and the beach was coming alive with more people and the illumination of the art works along the sand.
Another rest and a stroll for beer was decided on, again, the side street of eateries was the source of our beer and also a spiral potato crisp on a skewer, deep fried with a coating of spicy cheese.
