This hotel was to be our most extravagant choice of the holiday and it did not disappoint. An ultra-modern design hotel set on a peninsula past Incheon Airport it resembled a concrete box from the outside. The inside was a revelation, with glass entrance doors set in floor to ceiling windows mirrored by a glass wall on the opposite side that looked out through the gardens to the waterfront. The lobby floor was open and airy with restaurants leading directly off the main area. Travel quotes were inscribed on walls and embedded into the floor to gently remind you of your journey. Check-in was quick, efficient and attentive without being fussy which resulted in us being in our room within minutes of arriving.
Our room was on the 11th floor and we had paid extra for a sea view which proved to be a great decision. Entering the room, our eyes were instantly drawn to the view through the floor to ceiling windows. A balcony was set back so that no room or balcony’s privacy was compromised – total privacy was ensured at all times. The clever layout of the main room – raised bed directly in front of the window looking out- meant the morning sunrise could be watched from bed. There was a small seating area near the mini bar as well as another facing the TV that also incorporated a small desk area. The TV was not visible from the bed which we felt was a real bonus as the view through the window was so captivating. The bathroom was well designed with separate toilet, dressing area and shower/bath room. The bath was a large two person tub with a freestanding rain shower and a single window repeating the same amazing view as the bedroom. The complimentary toiletries were luxurious and made for a relaxing end to our holiday especially the mineral salts for the bath. The only small issue was the tiny bathrobes provided, they were not usable as they couldn’t be wrapped around.
For the first time we didn’t feel we were just biding our time in an airport hotel before heading home; the perfect bed gave us an incredible night’s sleep. We will never forget watching the sun go down whilst soaking our travel weary body in a mineral salt bath and then lying in bed watching the sunrise before our early morning flight back home.
PROS: Near perfection in every way. Amazing view. Convenient for Incheon airport.
CONS: Nothing worthy of note.
