The Leonardo Boutique in Rehovot
Lost in the bowels of my suitcase after my pre-Christmas visit to Oman, I was once again making friends with my sunglasses for this latest business trip, 11 days in Israel.
My first five days in Israel saw me located close to our agents office in Rehovot, a town a short drive South of Tel Aviv, finding myself comfortably holed up in the Leonardo Boutique Hotel adjacent to the Rehovot railway station.
With reception on the ground floor, the hotel portion of the tower rose from the 6th floor upwards to the Executive lounge on the 10th, with the middle portion of this hotel sandwich being filled with five floors of offices and businesses.
Checking in was easy with friendly and efficient staff.
Well-furnished my room gave a good view of the surrounding business district, the ‘burbs’ out on the fringes and the adjacent railway station.
Good sized bathroom with an excellent powerful shower, reasonably sized TV, tea and coffee making facilities and nice sized bed. Mini-bar was also well stocked. Good neutral colour scheme too gave it an airy and spacious feel.
Great choice of buffet breakfast in the attached restaurant on the ground floor too that also served incredibly good food in the evening. Very well cooked, nicely presented and very well served by knowledgeable waiters.
Overall a good hotel and a comfortable stay.
PROS: Convenient to local businesses in Rehovot and my customer’s office. Well-appointed and comfortable rooms. Reasonable prices. Very good on-site restaurant. Great executive lounge with a good selection of nibbles and reasonably priced drinks.
CONS: Found the bed to be a little soft for my taste. Some train noise from the station, not overly obvious by day, but audible none the less. Awkwardly placed electric sockets behind the curtains. Pay WiFi !!!!
