This peaceful hotel situated just minutes from Suidabashi Station made it a perfect base for a few days in Tokyo. The hotel pick-up service collected us from TCAT and was efficient and hassle-free. Despite arriving very early in the morning and with official check-in being 3:00pm, they still allowed us to have our room even suggesting we take a nap and clean-up before hitting Tokyo. Desk staff were beyond helpful even remembering a distant e-mail correspondence enquiring about watching Sumo training; recommending a nearby Sumo stable that was free to visit and making the phone call too. We had booked a standard room with breakfast. Our room was beautifully designed and compact, with the most comfortable bed imaginable. The surrounding area was residential so although the room had large Japanese screened windows there was no real view. Breakfast was a sumptuous buffet of traditional Japanese fare served in the peaceful ground floor restaurant overlooking the Japanese garden. Another gem was the third floor Refresh Lounge – a small area with massage chairs and a rooftop garden. This lounge had vending machines selling alcoholic and soft drinks as well as a microwave; a perfect spot to sit with a light lunch relaxing between sightseeing trips.
PROS: Perfectly positioned for transport links. Very helpful staff. Clean and well-presented rooms. Efficient airport pick-up arrangements. Great variety at breakfast buffet. Peaceful environment throughout. Third floor lounge great for escaping bustle. Mr Y was particularly impressed with the small laundry cupboard on each floor that housed a very clever iron in its own carry case.
CONS: Not really walkable to main attractions but local public transport is very good and part of the Tokyo experience.
