Tewksbury, MA – Holiday Inn

Pre-Christmas saw me enjoying the sunshine of Oman, sitting by the pool with day-time temperatures up in the mid-20’s, but no sooner had I returned to work after the holiday I was off to our office in the USA and the sub-zero temperatures of Westford, Massachusetts.

Holiday Inn - Tewksbury MA

Night time in Tewksbury.

Looking to get some distance between me and the office I spent my three weeks located in the Holiday Inn in Tewksbury MA, just a short 15 minute drive North up the I-495.

Nice sized room with regular fittings and fixtures. My view across the flat roof and kitchen extractor vents was a little disappointing. Big bathroom, well stocked as usual. Good thick towels too. Nice sized flat-screen TV, but lacking in a choice of International channels. Comfy king-sized bed but the choice of pillows you usually find in Holiday Inn rooms seemed to be identical, and even after requesting fresh ones, it was a choice between soft, or soft, so a trip to a local Target and for $6 I had a good firm pillow.

Staff were friendly and very chatty, greeting you like an old friend who’d just popped in. Breakfast was good but a little limited in choice, but it was plentiful and the staff attentive if a little slow.

The hotel is a little tired and tatty around the edges and could do with a freshen up, but was comfortable enough. The screen of the big screen TV in the lounge area was faulty and remained so for the entire three weeks as was the hole in the sofa. Not a good welcome as you enter reception.

Overall a comfy, pleasant stay. Nothing special.

PROS: Good location adjacent to the I-495 and nearby Cracker Barrel. Good sized room. Lovely, warm and friendly staff.

CONS: Decor, fittings and fixtures a little tired. Limited breakfast.
