With only one full day to enjoy Lima, we had arranged a morning tour with Haku Tours and after a lovely breakfast our tour guide Natalie arrived in reception spot on time to whisk us to the other side of Miraflores to visit a wetlands reserve. We booked their Nature Trek Tour taking us on a trek around the nearby wetlands and lakes that are home to many many sea birds. This reserve is on the edge of the city and is easily missed if you didn’t know it was there.
We freshened up after our trek and spent the afternoon walking around Barranco enjoying the square and an icecream at an old railway carriage.
Our holiday was finally wrapped up with a meal in Costazul, a family run seafood restuarant a few minutes walk from the hotel. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was simply amazing. A great way to end our adventure.
No sooner had we finished our meal it was time to head back to Jorge Chavez airport and put Mrs Y back on a plane to take her home. We had had a wonderful adventure in Ecuador, a place that has won a truly special place in our hearts.
