Once again we took toast and coffee in Che.Ca.fee before heading back up town to visit the Mirador panorámico de la Intendencia de Montevideo which was open today to enjoy a view of the city from 22 floors up. The sky was blue and cloudless and the view was a delight.

Then, it was a short walk down to the sea to pick up the Ramblas Britanico that took us to the Playa Rameriz where we sat and just enjoyed the sights and sounds of the beach.

Boots back on and we headed back along the Ramblas, cutting up through the town to the The Libreria Más Puro Verso bookshop for lunch where we enjoyed a perfect vegetarian three course meal.

Feeling nicely full we headed to the Teatro Solis to join a tour of the theatre that opened in 1856. Wednesdays tour is free, just queue up for the tour at 16:00 and get a ticket for absolutely nothing. Tours are split by language, a large Spanish group, a smaller Portuguese group and our English group that had a German, an Italian, a Uruguayan with a German friend and us, so it was nice and intimate. The tour was very enjoyable and the theatre was delightful.

Another short siesta back at the hotel before heading back to the Intendencia de Montevideo to enjoy the panoramic views of Montevideo at night.

Then, a final dulce de leche ice-cream and a pause for a one last beer, on the way back to the hotel and one last nightcap from the drinks trolley, once again, shared with our new Finnish friend.

And that was a wrap for Montevideo!
