Air pollution in the city has made us rather sluggish in the mornings, and today, particularly so, making for a later exit from the hotel than we had planned. But today is to be a quieter day, simply a walk through the city to the Reserva Ecológica, a preserved wetlands area, home to all kinds of fauna and wildlife. Walking amongst the trees and enjoying the fresher air was a delight, spotting birds we’d never seen and enjoying plants and butterflies that were new to us too.

After exiting the park, the Promenade alongside the lagoon was home to lots and lots of food stalls selling all kinds of food and drink, we eventually found a stall offering vegan menu options rather than the usual cooked meats. Placing an order for a vegan burger and a vegan Milanese, both with fries, we sat in the shade and simply enjoyed being in the outdoors.

Returning to the hotel we took a short siesta before scrubbing up, getting changed and going out to fnally see some Tango! We had picked up show-only tickets for $40 each at Tango Porteño, just a short walk from our hotel. Our seats were front row of the balcony so we had a perfect uninterrupted view both of the performers and the beautiful Art Deco theatre.

We loved the show, enjoying the choreography and music from the live six piece band as well as a variety of traditional dances and tango singing. Everything in Buenos Aires starts late so we didn’t leave the theatre until 11:30 but the city continues to party with most bars and restaurants closing at 1:00am, enabling us to grab a quick drink before returning to the hotel.
