Day Eleven (Dia once)

Our airport transfer was booked for 9:30, as we’d been advised by the hotel to allow a little extra time for the busy BA traffic, but it wasn’t too bad this morning. We took a leisurely last buffet breakfast before finally zipping up our cases, checking out and heading out in to the Buenos Aires morning towards Ezeiza Airport, just an hour later we were checking in at the British Airways desk.

Attempting to change our spare money back to USD at the bank we were told we’d just missed the 10 day deadline, by only a matter of two hours, so we were still left with a bunch of pesos in our pocket. We’d also heard that they actually don’t like giving tourists their money back either, preferring to keep the harder currency in country.

Clearing immigration was easy. We rarely shop in duty free anywhere, but scoured duty free, finding a bottle of Tambo Dulce de Leche liqueur that we’d enjoyed in Colonia, luckily taking the remainder of our pesos as part payment. Taking a relaxing break with a coffee or two in the lounge before boarding, we boarded easily and pushed back 10 minutes early and with the aircraft routing taking us back across Uruguay, we were soon heading home, our south american adventure finally over.
